Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo led the presentation of the 2026 Leon State Fair, a historic edition that will celebrate the 450th anniversary of the founding of the City and the 150th edition of one of Mexico’s most traditional and beloved fairs.

With the commitment to make this festival a true People’s Fair, the Governor announced a comprehensive investment of 150 million pesos, aimed at offering better content, strengthening the local economy and raising the quality of experiences for all families.

“The goal is for every peso to become experiences for families, opportunities for local producers, jobs for our people, and pride for Leon,” the Governor said, emphasizing that it will be a more inclusive, accessible fair designed for everyone.
Libia Dennise noted that the Leon Fair is the best showcase of what the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato represent. You can find Marca GTO products, handicrafts, agro-food, leather and footwear, textiles and other industries, with the participation of more than 600 Guanajuatense companies.

In a single tour, families can enjoy the large bread of Acambaro, the cajeta of Celaya, the strawberries of Irapuato, the wine of the Valley of Independence, the tequila of Penjamo and Huanimaro, the mezcal of the mountains, as well as the leather and footwear that have made Leon great in Mexico and in the world. Spaces such as the Identity Pavilion and the Cheese and Wine Pavilion will also be strengthened.
One of the new features of this edition is the arrival, for the first time in the fair, of the Guanajuato Pavilion Si Sabe!, a gastronomic corridor that pays homage to the culinary roots of the State.

“Because our flavors have a memory. They taste of freshly cooked corn, of the broth that perfumes the house, of the griddle that awakens the craving, and of the table where families gather,” the Governor said.
Disney comes to the People’s Fair
The Governor announced that, in this edition, Disney will be part of the fair’s entertainment offer with a special show entitled “Where Dreams Are Built”.

In this show, Mickey and Minnie, accompanied by Stitch, will share a message of imagination, joy, and building dreams as a family, adding to the moments that “light up the nights of January” at the Leon Fair.
The 2026 Leon State Fair will also be an engine of economic growth, culture, and tourism. Among the announced activities are:
- The People’s Day, with free admission on January 9, the opening day; the People’s Forum, featuring 14 concerts, reviving the spirit of the traditional People’s Theater; and the Livestock Expo, a source of pride for Guanajuato’s agricultural sector, which will showcase the strength and quality of the State’s agricultural production

“It’s the People’s Fair, and it should feel that way from the moment you walk in: warm, accessible, and made for every family,” said Libia.
The lineup for the People’s Forum includes first class national and international artists.
“Today I am here not only as Governor, but as a proud woman from Leon, in love with the land and the fair; a woman from Leon who grew up here, and who now has the privilege of coming holding hands with my children to continue building those memories that I hope will also last forever for them,” said the Governor.

“This fair is for you, to celebrate 450 years of history of the City and 150 years of tradition of the Fair; to embrace each other, reunite and feel like children again, no matter how old we are,” said Libia.
