The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, participated in the laying of the first stone of the New Cookie Factory of Grupo La Moderna, a project that represents an investment of 40 million dollars and the generation of 300 direct jobs for the people of Guanajuato.

The Governor highlighted that this investment reflects the trust that Mexican companies place in Guanajuato, trust that translates into development, employment and opportunities for families.
“When companies place their trust in our State, there is hope, there is optimism, there are jobs, and there is development. I want to express my gratitude for the confidence that two of Mexico’s most beloved and important companies have placed in Guanajuato. Those who invest in this land trust in the quality, talent, and work ethic of our people,” said the Governor.

Libia Dennise highlighted that the People’s Government maintains a close vision for investors, facilitating conditions for new projects to come to the State and contribute to the well-being of the communities.
The State Governor pointed out that the new plant will have a positive impact on various productive sectors, by strengthening local supply chains, transportation, services and especially the Guanajuatense farming sector, through the acquisition of wheat produced in the region.

“We’re not just talking about a cookie factory; we’re talking about a production chain that starts in the fields. This is how development is built: by connecting the countryside with industry and generating value at every stage,” said the Governor.
Libia noted that in less than two years of the current State administration, 50 percent of the six-year goal for attracting investment has already been achieved, consolidating Guanajuato as one of the main destinations for industrial development in the country.
Eduardo Monroy Carrillo, Advisor to the Executive Committee of Grupo La Moderna, explained that Guanajuato’s strategic location, its logistical connectivity, its agricultural strength, and the quality of its people were decisive factors in making this project a reality.
“The Bajio region of Mexico is the ideal place to produce and distribute our products. We believe in Mexico, we believe in its hardworking people, and in the potential of regions like Guanajuato to continue growing and generating prosperity,” said Monroy.

Mayor of Irapuato, Lorena Alfaro Garcia, celebrated the expansion of Grupo La Moderna and said that the arrival of new investments confirms that the city has the necessary conditions to grow and compete.
The new plant will produce cookies of brands widely recognized by Mexican families and adds to the strong industrial presence that Grupo La Moderna maintains in Guanajuato through its wheat milling, collection and processing operations.
