Purisima del Rincon maintains for 11th consecutive year its emblem as a Magic Town in its community of Jalpa de Canovas
Mayor Roberto Garcia Urbano confirms investment as a tourism booster

Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, Roberto Garcia Urbano, received the ratification by the Federal Government of the emblem as a Magic Town of Jalpa de Canovas, a purisimense tourist destination also known as a “Best World Tourism Village” by the World Tourism Organization.
Roberto Garcia Urbano thanked for the fact that Jalpa de Canovas, the town that is part of Purisima del Rincon, for maintaining the actual emblem and for being ratified as a Magical destination after 11 years and defending his plan of receiving thousands of visitors in different seasons during the year.
“This ratification shows the permanent commitment and work that through the Municipal Administration is done in this tourist destination, and which is important for tourists as well as for locals and neighboring communities”, said Garcia Urbano.
Guanajuato has 6 Magic Towns and each received that ratification, they are:
- Jalpa de Canovas, Dolores Hidalgo, Mineral de Pozos, Salvatierra, Yuriria and Comonfort
“It is a ratification that has a lot of value because they have worked a lot, first to become a Magic Town; then to maintain that status and now to keep the place alive, to give it a future, a projection within their municipalities and maintaining that pride”, said Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
“We are on the right track, we will present good results, and more than anything, we will leave new products that will strengthen and call the attention of the international market so that they keep visiting us in all the corners of Mexico”, said Federal Tourism Secretary, Miguel Torruco Marques.
The Federal Secretary announced that after many years the Green Angels are being equipped so that they will assist tourists on the roads, there will be support for Magic Towns for 20 artistic murals and for 140 house facades with the program Magic Routes of Color.
Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, the head of SECTUR Guanajuato, said that Tourism is an important engine of the economy of Guanajuato, and this is the first State that after the pandemic has been in a constant movement.
“Jalpa de Canovas, Magic Town and “Best World Tourism Village”, will keep taking care and constantly preserving its cultural, climate and social environment, with a touch of modernity without altering its history as a natural scene, the municipality has invested in preserving bridges, trees, the identity and social fabric”, said the Mayor.
Jalpa de Canovas, said Garcia Urbano, is part of the Tourist Corridor of Purisima del Rincon and now, said the Mayor, they are working on the program where all the Municipality works as one to promote its culture and identity, which has been built through the years, thanks to the social participation of each and all Purisimenses in the Central City as well as in all the communities, always promoting Purisima del Rincon as the best tourism destination to visit.
In the event in the ratification in Dolores Hidalgo a stand was used to present the attractions offered by Purisima del Rincon in traditions like the Judea, gastronomy and points of the route of religious tourism, extreme sports and environmental culture.
