Jalpa de Canovas Pueblo Magico is committed, starting with this event, to hold tourist events in a sustainable way
9,500 attendees are expected at the Walnut and Quince Fair in this Magic Town

The 6th Walnut and Quince Fair will be held on August 25 in the Main Plaza of the Pueblo Magico Jalpa de Canovas, in Purisima del Rincon, Guanajuato.
Starting at 10 in the morning, 9,500 attendees -according to a forecast by the Municipality- will taste a variety of products and gastronomy from 63 exhibitors, including traditional cooks, artisans, producers of quince cajeta, and desserts, sweets and souvenirs.
Representing Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, Frida Ximena Huett Lopez, Director of Tourism Products, and Roberto Garcia Urbano, Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, gave the details of this event that will include as guests the municipalities of San Francisco del Rincon, Manuel Doblado and Romita.
“We are surprised by Purisima del Rincon’s offer and we are also surprised by the commitment of the exhibitors, because from entrepreneurs we have seen them become businessmen,” congratulated Frida Huett.
Starting with this event, Jalpa de Canovas Pueblo Magico -through the Guanajuato Sustainable Tourism Distinction, implemented by SECTUR- is committed to carrying out tourist events in a sustainable manner, using environmentally friendly dishes, glasses and cutlery. In addition, it will prohibit the use of plastic bags and materials, and will place barrels for waste separation.
In inclusive matters, the municipality will place signage to identify spaces and accesses, special spaces will be maintained, special tables will be placed for people with disabilities, sales spots will be operated by people with disabilities and older adults in the municipality. We work in coordination with the DIF to comply with these measures.
Artisans will also be supported. The new section in the gastronomic events is the crafts area, made by purisimenses so that the municipality is identified.
In this edition, tables will be set up for children and parents to coexist, painting crafts such as cardboard masks, piggy banks and other products, so that the artisans can be benefitted.
Attendees will be able to spend the night in the City and in the Magic Town. Both destinations have 80 rooms, additionally, there is availability of lodging in Canada de Negros.
