The crops of 24 thousand producers from Irrigation District 011 will benefit, they correspond to the irrigation cycle of Spring–Summer 2024

To irrigate the crops of more than 24,000 producers in Irrigation District 011, the Solis Dam was opened, starting the Spring–Summer 2024 agricultural cycle.
Producers and State and Federal Authorities witnessed the moment that occurred at the dam curtain, in the municipality of Acambaro, where it was reported that in this cycle the DR011 will have 468.99 million cubic meters of water.
The irrigation will benefit crops such as corn, beans, sorghum and chickpeas, of the 24 thousand producers members of the 11 modules of DR011, which covers 112 thousand hectares.
Authorities in the event urged producers to make the most of water, optimize its use and avoid waste, since the resource is limited due to the scarce rains for some years.
Authorities also invited producers to maintain the momentum towards the modernization of the agricultural sector, with the implementation of drip irrigation, the leveling of the land with laser and the consideration of alternative crops that use less water.
Present at the event were Paulo Banuelos Rosales, Secretary of Agro-Food and Rural Development of the State; Agustin Robles Montenegro, president of DR011; Vicente Zepeda Lopez, director of Conagua in Guanajuato; Roberto Castaneda Tejeda, president of the Lerma–Chapala Basin Council, as well as the presidents of the 11 Irrigation Modules that make up DR011.
