The State Public Security Forces Secretary Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, highlighted the transformation process of the FSPE through the use of Police Intelligence to obtain more effective results against crime, during the Commemoration of the 190th Anniversary of the State Public Security Forces.
In this ceremony Secretary of Government, Libya Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo was in representation of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo; Libya Denisse is also the coordinator of the Security Axis in the Government of Guanajuato.
The Secretary of Public Security, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, stressed that as a result of the work implemented by the FSPE Intelligence Commission, the different divisions and groups that make up the State Police have had better results.
In the case of the State Rural Police, created in this Administration, it has carried out 23 thousand 923 patrols in various communities, through which they have presented to the competent authorities:
- 239 people arrested
- 68 firearms have been seized
- 917 cartridges
- 2 thousand 925 kilograms of carcass meat
- 276 head of cattle due to lack of guide for transfer
Cabeza de Vaca said that the K9 Unit is another of the groups created in 2019, which has had the invaluable support of the International Anti-Narcotics and Law Enforcement Office (INL) through the Embassy of the Government of the United States, as canine officers and their trainers were specially trained to detect drugs, weapons, and paper money.
Among the results of the K9 Unit Cabeza de Vaca mentioned:
- Arrest of 343 people for crimes related to drug possession
- Seizure of 85,714 doses of various drugs such as crystal, cocaine, base stone and marijuana
- 54 pieces of the chemical substance called cannabinoids
- 29 firearms
- 458 cartridges
- 21 chargers
- Six ballistic plates
- Five ballistic vests
- 77,120 pesos in cash
“Air patrol is a strategic instrument for operations and obtaining more effective results, since the aircraft and video surveillance systems on board are technological tools integrated into police intelligence systems”, said Alvar Cabeza de Vaca as he talked about the Arcangel Group, which is the most recent Specialized Unit of the State Public Security Forces.
The Secretary noted the coordinated and inter-institutional intervention of the SSPEG, SEDENA, National Guard, State Attorney General’s Office, Republic Attorney General’s Office and the National Intelligence Center, against car theft on Highway 45 in its toll sections and free sections, having the following results:
- 77 people arrested, linked to highway robbery
- 11 disintegrated criminal cells dedicated to this crime
- 11 warehouses where the stolen goods were stored
- Recovery of 64 tractor-trailers, 33 cargo trucks, 53 semi-trailers and 63 motorcycles
- The agents have seized 99,000 liters of hydrocarbons
- 353,121 doses of drugs
- 392 star tire punchers
- 12 large and small firearms
- 318 cartridges and 19 chargers
- Six ballistic vests
- Six ballistic plates
- Three GPS signal inhibitors
The Secretary of Government, Libya Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo, representing the State Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, thanked the women and men who make up the State Public Security Forces.
Munoz Ledo congratulated the 322 elements who received recognition for perseverance, as well as the 82 people who received recognition for Outstanding Value or Actions.
A special recognition was granted to the canine officers Golwen, Billy, Polly, Bomber of the K9 Unit for outstanding actions.
Munoz Ledo noted that the FSPE is one of the most reliable and efficient corporations in Mexico and emphasized the importance of their participation in various areas throughout Guanajuato.
Officer Ivette Lorena Gallegos, representing the elements of the FSPE, praised the work that they carry out every day for the construction of security, and highlighted the preparation and training they have received within the General Commissary of the Public Security Forces.
