Guanajuato will have more than 4,300 new jobs, with an investment of one thousand 26 million dollars, as a result of the ‘Investment Tour 2023, More Guanajuato in Asia’ headed by Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
The tour was on Japan and South Korea from June 5 to 17, where the Governor of Guanajuato was with the Heads of Economic Development, Social Communication, and state officials, who visited companies dedicated to the automotive and medical field.
In Japan, they met with executives of Mitsui High, a world-class company that provides frames for integrated circuits, precision tools, motor cores and rectifiers, which will invest 7.22 million dollars to generate 180 new jobs in Apaseo El Grande.
To strengthen collaborative training programs between Japanese and Mexican companies established in the state of Guanajuato, the Governor met with directors of JICA, an international cooperation agency in Japan.
In joint work, the training programs of Mexican companies will be continued, scholarships will be promoted for Mexican workers in Japan and SMEs will be supported through the Training Institute of Guanajuato, in addition to promoting Startups.
The Governor visited the Yazaki company, dedicated to the development of components for the automotive industry, where managers announced a new investment of 5 million dollars that will generate 875 new jobs for Guanajuato.
The company is already in the Puerto Interior -Inner Port-, and will now explore the agricultural sector with the intention of applying practices that improve sustainable agriculture, through the use of smart and clean technologies.
With the expansion of the facilities in Valle de Santiago, the company Furukawa Automotive Systems Mexico will create more than 700 new jobs.
The company dedicated to the manufacture of automotive systems and electronic equipment resides in the Sendai Industrial Park, where it will invest 5 million dollars in its expansion.
To present investment and development opportunities and the Rule of Law that distinguish Guanajuato, Governor Diego Sinhue presented the ‘Seminar on Investment in the State of Guanajuato’ to members of JETRO, a foreign trade organization in Japan, whose directors said that Guanajuato is fertile ground for investment because it is located in a strategic point for commercialization in America.
JETRO promotes local marketing in Japan and helps small and medium-sized companies to maximize their export potential, as well as to promote trade within Japan and of Japanese companies with the rest of the world.
Executives of the Toyota company presented to the Governor a new investment for 328 million dollars and the generation of 577 jobs for the Apaseo El Grande plant, in order to adapt a new production line for the Tacoma truck for the North American market.
This truck will be hybrid-electric, and thus, Toyota will reach an accumulated investment of 1.2 billion dollars in Guanajuato, which will generate 2,577 jobs.
Guanajuato will enter the hydrogen-based electromobility strategy, said Governor Diego Sinhue after visiting the ECOFUL plant, a subsidiary of Toyota Automotive.
The DENSO company, which manufactures cooling and air conditioning systems, announced to the Governor the expansion of operations in Silao, where it will invest 13 million dollars to create 450 new jobs.
DENSO arrived in Guanajuato 10 years ago with an initial investment of 57 million dollars and after a decade, it has increased to 118 million.
The Governor met with HONDA executives, who announced a new investment of 313 million dollars, and the Governor thanked them for their turst to invest in the Celaya plant, where after 10 years of starting operations, an investment has already been reached for 1 thousand 583 million dollars, which generates 4 thousand 600 direct jobs.
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, met with authorities from the Hiroshima Prefecture and visited the Mazda plant where he greeted the Guanajuatense talent in training.
This company is a leader in the automotive industry and in the last year it has invested 60 million dollars in the Salamanca plant.
The Governor met with young people from Guanajuato who work for Mazda and are undergoing training at the headquarters plant, originally from Irapuato, Salamanca, Valle de Santiago, Villagran and Juventino Rosas, among other municipalities, who will be in Hiroshima training to later train their colleagues at the Salamanca plant.
“I feel very proud to see how they are working and how they are improving themselves; we are growing and that is the true meaning of coming on these trips to bring more global quality companies to Guanajuato”, said the Governor.
Diego Sinhue visited his Hiroshima counterpart, Hidehiko Yuzaki, and officials from the Prefecture.
At the meeting there were agreements, among which are exchanges in sports, reduction of the carbon footprint, specialized medical care, investments and attention to the populations of each state that temporarily reside in Hiroshima or Guanajuato, respectively.
The company Okita Iron Works, leader in the production of bearings, ratified its commitment to invest 40 million dollars and generate 200 new direct jobs in Guanajuato.
“This company will bring more jobs to Guanajuato families; we thank the Okita executives for their trust in Guanajuato, we are sure that their presence in our State will be a great success”, said the Governor.
Directors of the company Suminoe Textile, announced the expansion of investment with 19.5 million dollars and the generation of 150 new jobs.
This company is dedicated to the manufacture of textiles for interiors, including aircraft and the automotive industry; It currently has a plant in Irapuato, where they have already invested 15.5 million dollars and generate 60 jobs.
More investment from South Korea
In the city of Seoul, the delegation from Guanajuato visited the HiHo company, one of the leaders in the aluminum industry through the development of mines, smelting, and production of quality manufacturing in its final form.
Hiho produces aluminum wheels for automakers of Nissan, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz and BMW and has 2,500 employees around the world.
HiHo will soon be in Guanajuato at the Chuy Maria park in Apaseo El Grande, where it invests 100 million dollars that will generate 600 direct jobs.
The Governor of Guanajuato and his entourage met with representatives of the AB Medical company, producer of ‘V-TUBE’ blood collection tubes, who announced an investment of 26.33 million dollars to open a plant in Guanajuato, which will generate 250 jobs.
AB Medical is a leading company in the medical supplies industry in Korea; they currently serve the markets of Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Suriname, Malaysia, Vietnam and Mexico, where there is a growing market to serve Latin America and North America.
AB Medical offers the technology of ‘V-TUBE’ collectors that give the best result in blood tests and are currently sold in South East Asia, Central Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America.
The Corentec company enters the global orthopedics market with high-value products; its President expressed interest in installing a production plant in America, although they already have the Fixier/Dipromedic subsidiary since 2019 in Doctor Mora, where they are also engaged in the manufacture of orthopedic equipment and have a relationship with Corentec for the manufacture of components with its technology.
In this tour, the Governor met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takei Shusunke, and was accompanied by the Ambassador of Mexico in Japan, Melba Pria, whom he thanked for the support and accompaniment of the Embassy in the work agenda for this country.
Diego Sinhue also met with the Mexican Ambassador to South Korea, Carlos Penafiel, whom he thanked for his accompaniment and also agredo n support to continue the search for investors in Korea to increase the opportunity for economic growth in Guanajuato.
The delegation from Guanajuato, headed by Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, also included Ramon Alfaro Gomez, Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development –SDES-; Alan Sahir Marquez Becerra, General Coordinator of Social Communication of the State Government; Alejandro Hernandez, Undersecretary of Investment Attraction of the SDES and Alfredo Porras, General Director of Foreign Investment of the SDES; in addition to Katsumi Itagaki Consul of Japan in Leon.
