“We want to promote greater civic awareness and strengthen the sense of belonging and identity of Guanajuatenses”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“The initiative was made in accordance with recent additions to the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, which recognize the power of the Federated States to legislate on state symbols, in observance of cultural diversity and regional autonomy,” said the governor.
The initiative will be presented to the consideration of the State Congress for its legislative process and is presented as part of the celebrations for the 200 years of Guanajuato as a Free and Sovereign Federative State.
With the initiative they seek to contribute to sustainable development and strengthen the cultural identity of Guanajuato, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, in line with the values and culture of the region.
Part of this Law is the regulation of the use of the official coat of arms for the State of Guanajuato, which is proposed to be the coat of arms of Santa Fe and Real de Minas de Guanajuato, since it has been used for years as an official coat of arms, even though this adoption has not been materialized in any Decree.
It is proposed that this seal also be part of the flag of Guanajuato and that the State flag day be celebrated on December 20 of each year. This initiative must be analyzed by Congress for approval.
