The Governor thanked Honda for its trust in Guanajuato, by generating opportunities, making dreams come true and meeting goals, “it is an achievement of Guanajuato and Mexico”, said the Governor at the celebration for the Tenth Anniversary of Honda’s Celaya plant.
Rodriguez Vallejo said that Honda’s stay in Celaya has not been easy and the company has remained standing in the face of floods and the pandemic, and even so, its human capital shows the world that things are done well in Guanajuato.
“I feel very happy to witness these ten years of the Honda plant in Celaya; Guanajuato is a hotbed of great talents, the most valuable thing is its people and that makes Guanajuato’s automotive plants the most productive of its companies,” said the Governor.
The President of Honda of Mexico, Dai Fujikawa, said that the company he directs seeks to provide its customers with quality products, and for this reason they have been recognized, but these distinctions are thanks to the dedication of its associates who achieve quality. in their work.
“We should be proud of our success and we will continue to do so, to ensure we continue to grow in the coming years, because the future of Honda Celaya is bright,” said the President.
Honda in Guanajuato:
- The first stone of the Honda plant in Celaya was laid in March 2012
- An investment of more than 800 million dollars was planned
- The plant was inaugurated on February 21, 2014 for the assembly of cars and engines
- In September 2013, an additional investment of $470 million was made for the CVT Transmissions plant
- The total investment for both plants was for one thousand 270 million dollars
The Celaya Plant began production with the Honda Fit, for the North American market and then exported it to other countries; in 2016, production of the Honda HR-V pickup truck began.
Honda today:
- The plant produces up to 196 thousand units annually
- In 2023, 167 thousand 250 units were produced
- The transmission plant has an annual capacity of up to 350 thousand CVT transmissions
