Guanajuato closed 2022, with a decrease in homicides and in the overall crime rate, according to data published by the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System.
The decrease in the case of victims of intentional homicide was 27.4 percent compared to 2020, and 7.3 less compared to 2021, closing in the sixth national position; this is the third consecutive year in which a decrease has been registered.
While in investigation of cases for the same crime, the decrease was 28.9% less compared to 2020 and 4.4% less compared to 2021.
The Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System, discloses the global index of crimes which month by month, in an exercise of transparency and clarity, both at the state level and by municipalities, they are made public so that citizens can consult them directly, on the page of the Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System, at:

The State, at the end of 2022 is:
- Sixth place in the national homicide rate per 100,000 inhabitants
- Seventh in the crime rate
- In kidnapping it ranks 28th
- Ninth in investigation of cases of extortion
Regarding the global crime index:
- Guanajuato closes in ninth place
- Investigation of cases for the crime of house robbery report a decrease of 5.28 percent
- Guanajuato is in the 12th position
- It is the 15th national place in auto theft
- In assault to passers-by Guanajuato is in the 26th place
- In feminicide the State is in 27th place
Both the crimes that affect the patrimony and integrity of the citizenry in general, as well as those that reflect the violence of criminal groups, such as intentional homicide, reflect a constant decrease, the result of the coordinated efforts of Municipalities, State and Federation as well as reports by citizens.
