The Secretary of Health is calling on the population to take extreme preventive measures due to the drop in temperatures in the 46 municipalities.

The Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortes Alcala, reported that since October 13, when the winter season vaccination began in the 46 municipalities, surveillance and epidemiological control actions have been reinforced.

Cortes urged the population to take advantage of the winter vaccination campaign, which includes the application of doses against influenza and Covid 19, available free of charge at the State’s Health units.
Cortes Alcala explained that at the State level, approximately 45% of the influenza doses have been administered, 35% of the doses against Covid 19 have been administered, and 45% of the pneumococcal vaccine target has been met.

The goal is to administer a total of 1.7 million doses against influenza, 522,000 against Covid 19, and 264,000 against pneumococcus.
It is important to take extra precautions, especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory or chronic illnesses, urged the Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortes Alcala.

For vulnerable groups, the Secretary of Health implemented influenza vaccination.
