The State of Guanajuato is home to great events. Next year, from February 23 to 25, Leon, Silao, Romita and Guanajuato City will be the host municipalities of the third edition of the “Guanajuato 200 Years Rally of Nations”.

Juan Jose alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, representing the Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, announced the dates of the return of this sporting event, which will be held as part of the celebrations for the 200 years of Guanajuato as a Federative, Free and Sovereign State.
Rally of Nations was born in Guanajuato, destination “Capital of Rallying in North America”. This event attracts regional, national and international visitors, and strengthens the destination in motor sports, generates economic benefits, and captures the spotlight worldwide.
“This shows that Guanajuato does events well; for years, we have hosted the Rally. We are a particular reference in the subject of the Rally not only because we have this event but because we have a school, a Team that makes great drivers; no doubt, the Rally is a transversal issue between tourism, health, the community, Government and municipalities,” said Alvarez Brunel.
2024 is the year of the return of the Guanajuato 200 Years Rally of Nations, an event that will use traditional WRC stages and some new roads.
It was in 2009 when the project called Rally of Nations began, an edition that saw the team of Dani Sordo and Xavi Pons win for the Spanish flag. Later, in 2022, the same version of the event was held, with Germany being the winning country.
This Rally -where the drivers participate as a pair to win as a country- will be broadcast in more than 120 countries with global sports television stations through the TV4 channel; “Guanajuato has the great focus of rallying. At an international level, Guanajuato is the central location of the Rally,” said Juan Aguilera Cid, Director of TV4.
The atmosphere and good spirit has left good memories for everyone involved in the 2009 and 2022 Rally of Nations. The return of the Rally of Nations has finally arrived, hoping to return definitively as a new experience for the young drivers.
“Together with the drivers we have found wonderful settings in Guanajuato such as Las Dunas, attractions that have become a great reflector for our Rally. Guanajuato continues to set the standard in sports tourism,” said the Secretary of Tourism.
In this edition, the social project “Health Rally” will also be held, it has carried out more than 110 thousand actions to benefit the communities through which the rally passes, since its beginning in 2009. Some of the benefits are provision of glasses, wheelchairs, hearing aids, surgeries, special devices, medical and dental care.
Present in this announcement, made at the facilities of the Guanajuato Bicentenario Park were Guanajuatense Mayors and State Officials and virtually were, Gilles Spitalier, Director of Rallymex; and Patrick Suberville, director of Rally Mexico and the Rally of Nations.
