Not only has Guanajuato City won the title as the “Most Trustworthy Colonial City”, it is also the “Most Beautiful City in Mexico”

Guanajuato capital is -since 2014- the “Most reliable colonial city in Mexico”, as consumers of the prestigious magazine “Reader’s Digest” (-Selecciones- in Spanish) have declared in the awards Trusted Brands 2022.
The State capital is one of the 2 World Heritage Cities of Guanajuato that receives more culture, pleasure, adventure, romance, business and gastronomy tourism.
In the first half of this year, this colonial destination -which has the majestic Juarez Theater dating from the end of the 19th century- received some 210,000 visitors.
This trust that visitors have placed in the city is applauded by the Government of the State of Guanajuato.
Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism, congratulates Guanajuatenses for making alliances and creating joint strategies so that this destination is a benchmark in tourism.
“The work we do together with the State Government, Municipality and Society is reflected in the excellent service provided by our cities. The warmth, quality, and kindness of the people of Guanajuato have been recognized in constant occasions,” said Alvarez Brunel.
For more than 80 years, the Reader’s Digest Magazine has been read throughout Mexico; and since 2010, consumers -through surveys- have responded to the question “Which is the most trusted colonial city in Mexico?”, and have delivered -in the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022- the award of “Brands of Confidence” to Guanajuato capital.
After a rigorous public evaluation and under a strict methodology, consumers rated this city for attributes such as: image (perception), price (cost-benefit), innovation (new products and services) and social responsibility (in sustainable actions).
The destinations –cities- of San Miguel de Allende, Morelia, Puebla, Queretaro, Taxco and Zacatecas, to name a few, also participated in these awards.
Guanajuato capital has not only won, year after year, the title of the “Most Trustworthy Colonial City”; This year it was also recognized as the “Most Beautiful City in Mexico” by the “Mexico Travel Awards”, an award that recognizes excellence and innovation in the luxury travel market and services throughout the travel industry.
In addition, it is an ideal destination for the planning and execution of events of all kinds. “We count on essential factors for a good outcome such as infrastructure, air and land connectivity, art, climate, and comfort,” highlighted the Secretary of Tourism.
Today, Guanajuato capital, founded in 1741, is recognized for its mining wealth, national and international tourists services, peculiar hotels and restaurants, architectural beauty, and an exquisite diversity of traditions and customs.
