The Governor promotes the attraction of investment to Guanajuato with members of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations -CEOE-

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, began Guanajuato Week in Spain with a series of meetings with representatives of the business and tourism sector of the European country.
The first meeting was held with members of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations –CEOE-, an organization that represents Spanish businessmen and integrates public and private companies from all sectors.
Rodriguez Vallejo said that the CEOE symbolizes a true lever for economic development, because it is the companies that generate jobs and wealth.
“We admire their development and their business culture. We know of your defense of individual liberties; of responsibility and social participation that they promote”, said the Governor.
“These are principles and values that Spain and Guanajuato share. We are here to promote our State as a great destination for your investments. The Government creates the conditions for this investment to take place and for a positive environment to exist. It generates the rule of law and continuity in public policies. And that is what we have done in Guanajuato”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
The CEOE is the largest and most important business community in Spain, it was founded in June 1977 and is considered the main representative of companies in Spain before the Administration, State agencies, trade union organizations, political parties and international institutions.
CEOE is an active member of BusinessEurope, which brings together business associations from across the European continent.
This organization brings together the majority of companies of any size or sector through grassroots associations, which form a network of 240 business organizations. Since 2018, Antonio Garamendi Lecanda is the president of the CEOE.
An important part of the Guanajuato-Spain relationship is the investment by the Spanish private initiative in Guanajuato in the construction and ceramics, automotive-auto parts, services, metal-mechanics, agro-industrial and personal care sectors.
In this state administration there are four investment projects and 764 committed jobs, with an investment of 85.8 million dollars in Salamanca, Leon, Silao and San Miguel de Allende, in the construction and automotive-auto parts sectors.
As part of the Guanajuato Week in Spain, which takes place from May 16 to 21, Casa de Mexico in Spain invited the Government of Guanajuato to work on a calendar of actions and events that allow a space for linking with companies and Spanish institutions.
There will be 13 meetings to attract investment and 10 meetings to establish future relationships from the field of culture, tourism and economics, promoting the philosophy “More Guanajuato in the World, and More World in Guanajuato”.
Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo also met with Spanish tour operators to publicize the strengths of Guanajuato as a tourist destination.
During this meeting, the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, made a presentation to show why Guanajuato is the Greatness of Mexico, and explained that the State has had a presence in the Spanish market for 9 years , especially since the Madrid airport represents one of the largest flows of European tourists.
In the year 2022, Mexico received 366 thousand 076 Spanish tourists and is the third tourist-issuing country for Guanajuato for the first year, with the luxury tourism segment.
The secretary explained to the Spanish tour operators that since 2014 they have worked with various business partners who have supported the departure and sale of the destination. This year the State has worked with Avasa, Nuba, Catai and El Corte Ingles.
Guanajuato Week in Spain will have two days of tours in a tour bus around Madrid, with tasting of cuisine and drinks from Guanajuato and a mariachi group.
With 2 percent of the international market, Spain represents the fifth issuing market for international visitors to Mexico, after the United States, Canada, Colombia and the United Kingdom.
“During this week you will also be able to know our main tourist attractions. We have colonial cities and World Heritage Sites, modern cities, magical towns, archaeological zones and a large number of destinations”, said the Governor.
