Guanajuato manages to remain in 5th place as an exporter State above Tamaulipas during the first half of 2024. An 18.01 % growth is reported

Guanajuato maintains the 5th spot as an exporting State nationwide, above Tamaulipas.
According to estimates by the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade, COFOCE, Guanajuato continues to be the first non-border exporting State.
The most recent estimated figures from COFOCE reveal that from January to June 2024 there were 36 exporting municipalities, adding one more than in the first quarter of the previous year.
In total, exports add up to $20,493 million dollars, which represents a variation of 18.01 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
1,651 companies are registered and the municipalities with the most exports are:
- Silao, Celaya, Salamanca, Apaseo el Grande, Irapuato, Leon, San Jose Iturbide, San Miguel de Allende, Cortazar and Doctor Mora
Guanajuato once again demonstrates that it is a fertile ground for the internationalization of MSMEs, which represent the majority of companies in the export registry of Guanajuato with 80 percent, during the first half of 2024.
The behavior of the different sectors individually in exports is recorded as follows:
- The industry sector is the one that has grown the most in Guanajuato, representing 90.3 percent
- The agro-food sector with 6.6 percent
- Fashion with 2.5 percent
- Construction with 0.4 percent
- Crafts with 0.3 percent
The main export destinations are:
- The United States, Canada, Colombia, Brazil and China
