To continue the logistics development of Guanajuato, the transnational FedEx –Federal Express Corporation- opened a new distribution center in the Stiva Industrial Park that was inaugurated by Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
FedEx started building its facilities in 2021 with an investment of 13 million dollars in ver 18 thousand 930 square meters, where they handle an average of 11 thousand 500 packages daily and generate 148 direct jobs.
“With initiatives like this, Guanajuato is positioned as the logistics hub of Mexico, bringing companies closer to international quality services; the presence of FedEx strengthens our logistics vocation by offering solutions to the shipping and distribution needs of businesses”, said the Governor.
Vice President of FedEx in Mexico, Jorge Luis Torres Aguilar, said that FedEx Corporation is an American multinational holding company, based in Memphis, Tennessee.
With half a century of experience in transportation, electronic commerce and services, they have a presence in 220 countries and territories in the world, where more than 700 thousand jobs are offered; in Mexico the workforce is 9 thousand collaborators.
In addition to the opening of the Distribution Center in León, starting this month the transnational began operations at the Salamanca Station, where another 90 direct jobs are generated, with a capacity to operate up to 4,500 packages per day. 3.9 million dollars were invested in this station.
Between the two centers of Leon and Salamanca, FedEx:
- Moves up to 16,000 packages daily
- Has facilities of more than 40,000 square meters
- Offers almost 240 direct jobs
- Has 97 vehicles to serve
- 170 routes
- 24 shipping centers in Guanajuato
An agreement is signed
FedEx executives and representatives of the Secretary for Sustainable Economic Development (SDES) of the Government of Guanajuato, signed a collaboration agreement to promote Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with preferential rates of up to 40 percent discount on their shipments.
The agreement was signed by the Head of SDES, Ramón Alfaro Gómez; the Vice President of FedEx in Mexico, Jorge Luis Torres Aguilar and as witness of honor, signed the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
“For Guanajuato it is a pleasure to have your presence and your participation, supporting the development and growth of companies; this participation is specially important for us, given the new economic scenarios”, said the Governor.
