Governor of Guanajuato participates in the Second United States-Mexico Binational Convention, “Nearshoring: Moving Forward Together”
The Governor highlights the great alliance of the States that make up the Gran Bajio area

“In Guanajuato we are ready to take advantage of the opportunities represented by “nearshoring”, it is a great opportunity to strengthen the Gran Bajio region”, said Governor of Guanajuato Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor was part of the Panel “State Strategies to Encourage Nearshoring” that is held as part of the Second United States-Mexico Binational Convention, “Nearshoring: Moving Forward Together”.
The event is organized by the American Society of Mexico, a non-profit organization that represents the interests of the United States of America in Mexico, the more than two million Americans currently residing in the country, 120 non-governmental organizations; as well as various United States corporations in Mexico and Mexican companies in this nation.
In the Panel where Mauricio Kuri, Governor of Queretaro also participated; Rodriguez Vallejo noted the alliance between the states that make up the Gran Bajio: Guanajuato, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi and Aguascalientes, which are essential for the economic and social development of Mexico.
Rodríguez Vallejo highlighted that Guanajuato has good energy services, as well as an excellent location and connectivity, which makes easy the transfer of goods to the border, center and south of the country.
Guanajuato also has a highly competitive logistics infrastructure since 2 of the most important highways in Mexico cross here: 45 and 57.
In addition, the railway lines of Kansas City Southern de México -KCSM- and Ferromex are intertwined.
The Governor highlighted that in Guanajuato there are 189 universities and technological schools (including UNAM and IPN) from which more engineers graduate than in many other area of Mexico, to join the companies that arrive.
“The public policies that have been adopted in Guanajuato during the last 30 years, as well as the work that is carried out between society and the government, have contributed to Guanajuato currently being the fifth largest economy in the country, according to information provided by INEGI”, said the Governor.
“In Guanajuato we are betting on innovation, that is why we have the Valley of Mindfacture because we are going to be the epicenter of Industry 4.0”, noted Rodriguez Vallejo.
Also, we are a State that gives certainty and trust, where the rule of law is respected, which is why more national and foreign investments continue to arrive in Guanajuato, said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo thanked the American Society of Mexico; especially its President Larry Rubin; as well as the President of the Convention, Santiago Fernandez Vidal.
The event was attended by businessmen, authorities, academics, and students.
