The State of Guanajuato is the ideal place to enjoy -as a family, as a couple or on your own- the Summer Vacations. From July 22 to August 25, the destination awaits:
- 2.4 million visitors
- An economic impact of more than 5,624 million pesos
According to the Tourism Observatory -OTEG-, these numbers present a positive increase compared to the summer holidays of 2023. On this occasion, the expected increase is for 1% and 2%, respectively.
The OTEG, the institute in charge of the Guanajuato Tourism Secretary, also reports that 494 thousand tourists -1% more compared to last year- will arrive in hotels in the State, presenting an average hotel occupancy of 40%, a figure that represents more than 337 thousand rooms occupied, 2% more than 2023.
During the five weeks of the vacation period, national and foreign visitors will have the opportunity to know and take a walk -with trained and certified tourist guides- through the protected natural reserves, the charming Magic Towns, the historical Archaeological Zones, and the emblematic World Heritage Cities.
Guanajuato City and San Miguel de Allende expect the arrival of more than 417 thousand visitors and more than 149 thousand tourists -1% more, in both figures, compared to last year-, who will be able to enjoy attractions and tourist products, as well as shows and tours with the Estudiantina and the Mojigangas.
The State of Guanajuato also offers 23 Protected Natural Areas that you can visit on vacation and appreciate the natural wonders of Cerro de Arandas, Cerro de Los Amoles, Cerro del Cubilete, Cerro del Palenque, Cerros El Culiacan and La Gavia, Cuenca Alta del Temascatio River, Esperanza Basin, Soledad Basin, La Joya Crater Lake, Yuriria Lagoon and its Zone of Influence.
Ready to be visited are also Las Fuentes, Las Musas, Bicentenario mega park, Metropolitan Park, Pena Alta, Pinal del Zamorano, La Purisima Dam and its Zone of Influence, Neutla Dam and its Zone of Influence, Silva Dam and Surrounding Areas, Seven Volcanic Region Luminarias, Sierra de Lobos, Sierra de Los Agustinos, Sierra de Penjamo and Sierra Gorda de Guanajuato.
Visitors will be delighted with the history, traditions, and architectural wonders and natural beauties in the five Magical Towns:
- Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Yuriria, Salvatierra, Jalpa de Canovas, Mineral de Pozos and Comonfort
You can’t miss the Archaeological Zones. In Guanajuato there are five ceremonial centers that are the most characteristic and relevant:
