Guanajuato creates MICE alliances

Guanajuato has 6 MICE destinations, 11 venues ideal for holding any type of event, including large format ones, and trained suppliers in terms of Meeting Tourism

The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato and the MICE tourism sector of the State participate and promote the offer of Meeting Tourism at the Meeting Place, a business forum that has brought together specialized providers in the sector for 20 years in convention and incentive tourism, corporate buyers, and associations.

In an ideal business environment based in Aguascalientes, the Guanajuato delegation will have the opportunity to make pre-arranged appointments with buyers, who will be shown the catalog of destinations and premises for their upcoming events. Visitors who participate in conferences, conventions and incentive trips invest three to five times more than a visitor who does traditional tourism.

Representing Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Lupita Robles Leon, Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion, and Conny Vallejo Cortes, Director of Specialized Segments, show the benefits of the six Guanajuato destinations with a MICE tourism vocation:

• Leon, Guanajuato City, Silao, San Miguel de Allende, Irapuato, and Celaya

Commercial advisors of Poliforum Leon; Doris Alba Gonzalez, Director of the Tourist Council of Guanajuato Capital, the Director of Corporate Events of Grupo Turistico Minero; and the Banquet Manager Grupo Mexico Real of San Miguel de Allende, are in the event.

Through pre-established agendas, all of them are in charge of promoting -starting from Tuesday 14th, and until November 16th- with buyers who organize and/or make financial decisions for conferences and incentive trips, the privileged geographical location of Guanajuato, the national and international flights offered from the Guanajuato International Airport, and the easy access to the State by road.

The Guanajuato delegation exhibits at Meeting Place -an event led by Fernando Compean, President of Meeting Place- the 3 to 5 star hotel offer and their capacity to hold large-format events.

They also present the 11 venues located in the 6 MICE destinations that allow to offer a variety of products adaptable to the needs of the events, where Business Tourism at an international level can hold their events and they are:

In the Meetings Tourism segment nationwide, Guanajuato ranks in 5th Place. And it is one of the 9 segments that the Ministry of Tourism promotes with greater emphasis, thus positioning Guanajuato as a destination of excellence by having infrastructure and trained suppliers.
