To strengthen the right to identity and provide legal certainty to Guanajuato families residing in the United States, the People’s Government delivered 125 documents resulting from birth certificate registration and certification processes, during an event held last weekend in the city of Goleta, California.

Under the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the People’s Government is promoting actions to bring public services closer to Guanajuato residents living abroad, facilitate access to official documents, and maintain a strong connection with their roots and Mexican identity.

“The pride and identity of our Homeland are legacies that are passed down through generations, that transcend borders, and that call us to share the joy of being Mexican,” said the Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jiménez Lona.

The delivery was the result of coordinated work between the People’s Government, through the Secretaries of Government and Human Rights, as well as Representative Yesenia Rojas Cervantes, the ADOVI Migrant Club, led by Leonardo Dominguez and local authorities.

Jimenez Lona acknowledged the collaboration of Representative Yesenia Rojas Cervantes, who forwarded the applications to the State Civil Registry, as well as the support of migrant organizations and the mayor of Goleta, Paula Perotte, to make this day possible for the benefit of families.

“This delivery is a result of the collaboration of the migrant community and the People’s Government,” said Jimenez Lona, highlighting the importance of joining efforts to bring public services closer to those who live outside the State.

Through the four Guanajuato Houses located in the United States, in coordination with the Secretary of Human Rights and the Civil Registry, support is provided for the search and location of records, correction of errors, integration of dual nationality files and birth insertions, as well as for the issuance of certifications and certificates of non-existence, without the need to travel to Mexico.

“We will continue to work together with migrant families and organizations to build better conditions of legal certainty,” said Jimenez Lona.
