Guanajuato and Japan continue to strengthen their ties of friendship, as evidenced by the visit to the State capital by Parliamentary Vice Minister of Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arfiya Eri.

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, welcomed Arfiya Eri, and the Japanese delegation that accompanied her to the Museum of Powers.

“Welcome to Guanajuato. We are delighted to welcome you to this city, a World Heritage Site. It is important for us to welcome those we consider brothers and sisters and allies of Guanajuato,” said the State Governor.

Libia said that it is a source of pride to welcome this delegation, led by a woman who has shown great leadership for Japanese women. “I am pleased to welcome you, especially in this building, the Museum of Powers, which is an architectural jewel in our State capital, as well as the Juarez Theater.”

After thanking the State Authority for their welcome, the Vice Minister emphasized that these types of meetings strengthen the friendship between Japan and Mexico, and said that it is a source of satisfaction to visit the city of Guanajuato and appreciate its historical and architectural treasures.

The Japanese delegation, which included the presence of the Consul General of Japan in Leon, Takero Aoyama, and State Authorities, walked along the city’s main street to the Juarez Theater, where the Vice Minister signed the distinguished visitors’ book.
On their tour, they were accompanied by the musical notes of the traditional “Estudiantina of Guanajuato.”
