Guanajuatense man injured in USA is assisted

The Government of the People is on alert to provide humanitarian aid to Guanajuatenses abroad

The worker was repatriated to receive medical care at Las Joyas Hospital in Leon

The People’s Government provided support for the repatriation of a Guanajuatense worker who suffered an accident while working and is already receiving medical care through the State Health System.

Personnel from the Human Rights Secretary received the Guanajuatense at the Bajio International Airport. He arrived via air ambulance and was transported to the Hospital de Las Joyas in Leon for necessary medical care, accompanied by family members.

The 51-year-old Guanajuatense, originally from San Felipe, was admitted to Wellstar Medical College in Georgia after hitting his head in a fall while at work.

According to the medical report, he was intubated due to unconsciousness and bleeding inside the skull, a dislocated right hip, a fractured left forearm, and other injuries.

In compliance with Governor Libia Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo’s instructions to implement humanitarian action in these cases, the family members were notified that the Guanajuatense worker would be repatriated via air ambulance to the Bajio Airport. The Government of the People also provided support through the Undersecretary for Migrant Assistance and Mobility.

The transfer was coordinated with the State Health Secretary at Las Joyas Hospital to receive the patient. His family requested that he be admitted to a hospital as close to their place of residence as possible to provide care and attention.

The family members were contacted by the Texas law firm for advice, as they said they were unaware of any information regarding his situation in general.

Through the liaison office in Atlanta, Georgia, efforts were coordinated with the Mexican Consulate in Georgia regarding the documents of the Guanajuatense for the repatriation process in coordination with the Consulate.
