SSG reports actions focused on the prevention and timely detection of Breast Cancer with a zero rejection practice

The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato, Ligia Arce Padilla, reported that breast cancer is one of the two leading causes of death from malignant neoplasms in women over 25 years old.
For this reason, the Gto Health System offers free mammography tests, in addition to being aimed at the general population regardless of their social status and eligibility, with the premise of zero rejections.
In addition, the following 4 basic components are considered as part of care:
- Prevention
- Early detection
- Diagnosis 4
- Timely treatment and palliative care
Arce Padilla said that there is a network of 17 digital mammograms, strategically distributed in each of the health jurisdictions, which have health licenses.
In addition to the four basic components in Guanajuato, other complementary actions are observed:
- Emotional support for the reintegration into social and family life of women
- Breast reconstruction, to promote the physical and emotional recovery of patients
- Women’s Network against Breast Cancer -MUCC RED-, focused on integrating women in treatment and recovery with a diagnosis of breast cancer and the general population in order to create peer groups to generate awareness and promote screening

During fiscal year 2023 in Guanajuato, a total of 114,227 clinical breast examinations were performed in women between 25 and 39 years old and 61,774 screening mammography studies in women between 40 and 69 years old.
