During four days, the sky in Leon will have more than 200 balloons from 25 countries

“We are very excited to welcome you to this wonderful International Balloon Festival”, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, as she inaugurated “The Festival of Festivals”.
Today Guanajuato welcomes you with open arms, we welcome those who visit us from Mexico and the world, said Libia Dennise.
“This is a family event, we come here to spend time with our children, parents, and grandparents”, said the Governor.
“I hope it is a festival that you enjoy to the fullest, and that today we can see this sky surrounded by those we love the most, and be able to see how these more than 200 balloons rise in the sky of Leon,” said Libia.
The Governor acknowledged the work of the FIG organizers, who are expecting more than 400,000 visitors and an economic impact of 800 million pesos during this edition, which is held from November 15 to 18.
“Let us take advantage of this long weekend to enjoy the wonders that Guanajuato offers us, and let us remember that the most important thing in this Government is its people, long live the People of Guanajuato and long live the Balloon Festival,” said Libia Dennise.
The 23rd edition of the FIG in the Metropolitan Park of Leon, presents several attractions such as the stellar concerts by:
- J Balvin, Marshmello, Armin van Buuren and Julion Alvarez
More than 200 balloons from 25 countries are taking part, including:
- Germany, Brazil, Turkey, the United States, France and Switzerland
There will be 10 special figures that will be flying for the first time in the festival. Among the most anticipated are:
- “Escapology”, based on the album by Robbie Williams, “Captain Caveman” from Brazil, and “Swiss Cow Blüemli” from Switzerland
The Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, also participated in this event. After welcoming all the attendees, she invited them to enjoy the different tourist attractions that the city of Leon has to offer.
