This event brings together the entire production chain of the Mexico’s dairy industry

Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, led the opening ceremony of the Expo Lac del Bajio 2024, which is held in Leon from June 6 to 7.
“This is an event that brings together the entire production chain of the country’s dairy industry, so issues of barn, machinery, inputs and finished product will be reviewed”, said the Governor.
“The are also presenting an interesting academic program, which includes conferences that will address the challenges and areas of opportunity of an industry that seeks to advance in production, quality and competitiveness,” said the Governor.
For this fifth edition, more than 2 thousand visitors, 68 brands and more than 86 stands are expected.
“I am sure that Expo Lac del Bajio 2024 will fulfill its purpose of being a space to share knowledge and information by experts and do business. We are very pleased that the city of Leon continues to establish itself as an ideal space to host large events,” said Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor said that Expo Lac and Wine Week are two events that are directly related with the agro-food sector, a fundamental pillar of the economy of Guanajuato.
The Governor noted that Guanajuato is a leader in the production of goat and bovine milk; as well as other products such as: poultry, pork and eggs.
“We are 2nd nationally in goat milk production, with the contribution of 24.1 percent of the national participation. And we occupy 5th place nationally in bovine milk production, contributing 7 percent of the national share,” he added.
The Governor said that the milk produced in Guanajuato is very good in terms of genetic quality of the livestock, processing and technology for production.
Diego Sinhue said that in Guanajuato there are 7,016 livestock farmers dedicated to this activity and about 207,000 heads of cattle and 449,000 heads of goats, just for this purpose.
Rodriguez Vallejo said that in Guanajuato we are convinced that training and access to knowledge and technology are an important part of the productivity of our field. “For this reason, we are going to continue supporting the Guanajuato countryside, which is a pillar of the development of Guanajuato,” he added.
“Hence the importance of holding the Expo Lac del Bajio 2024 in our land. I invite milk producers to continue strengthening this important industry,” said the Governor.
The expo covers the entire production chain, so topics of the stable, primary sector, machinery, supplies and the finished product will be discussed. This year the scientific communicator Rafa Carbajal will be there.
Breastfeeding topics will be added to the event, where there will even be a breastfeeding room.
The interim Mayor of Leon, Jorge Jimenez Lona, also participated in this ceremony; as well as the secretaries of Sustainable Economic Development, and Agro-Food and Rural Development; Ramon Alfaro Gomez and Paulo Banuelos Rosales.
