The City is ready for the “5th Gastronomic Expo Purisima of a Thousand Flavors”, to be held on Sunday July 16th in the plaza in front of the city Hall starting noon and will go on until the evening-night.
Roberto Garcia Urbano, the Mayor of Purisima del Rincon said that “Purisima of a Thousand Flavors” will attract a large amount of visitors and 11 thousand people are expected to visit the City from other cities of Guanajuato, Michoacan, Jalisco, Zacatecas and USA.
The expected total spending during the event is for 2.5 million pesos, an increase in the goals compared to last year when spending was registered for 2 million pesos.
The Government of the Municipality and the State will invest 350 thousand pesos in organization, mobility, infrastructure and events to be presented since noon until a little after 8:30pm, with singers that are talent of the House of Culture, Group Chichimeca Jonas, Mineral de Pozos (with prehispanic dancing and music), Danza de Barro from San Felipe, Guanajuato (folkloric dance), Mariachi Juvenil Azteca, ballet Masehulistli, dance Guamares from Comonfort and Banda Musical Imperio.
As he presented the complete program and the participation already confirmed of 60 cooks and merchants, Garcia Urbano said that they are from Purisima, Santiago Maravatio, Celaya, Salvatierra, San Francisco del Rincon, Manuel Doblado, Comonfort, Romita, Manuel Doblado, Mineral de Pozos and Penjamo, among other.
Cooks and merchants will offer gastronomy, arts and crafts and drinks.
The diversity in products offered goes from:
- The traditional enchiladas with cecina, gorditas, quince cajeta, Jalpa nuts, ice cream, traditional cooks, ceremonial tortillas from Comonfort, natural medicine, honey, traditional soap, prehispanic instruments, molcajetes and more.
Security personnel will be increased in 35% so that visitors in Purisima are safe with the support of groups of State and Federal security staff.
The City’s parking lots will be opnened to serve visitors until the last one has left.
Frida Ximena Huett Lopez, director of Tourism Products and representing Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato was in the presentation of the event and said the City has a gift that is an advantage in each event they hold, and that is the hospitality of its citizens, quality of events, its perseverance and greatness.
Huett said that until now the total spending in events in Purisima goes up to 35 million pesos.
Francisca Arevalo the image of “Purisima of a Thousand Flavos” and who sells flour dough gorditas, as well as Guillermina Rodriguez, a cook who sells enchiladas with cecina, explained how from one generation to the next the foods have been improving in their quality in Purisima for more than 3 generations and the flavor and gastronomy of the City remain as an attraction for its own people and those from out of Purisima.
