Purisima del Rincon is inviting everyone to enjoy the First Agave and its Roots Festival next May 21st at Canada de Negros, also there will be music, riding of horses, gastronomy, crafts, and other.
Roberto Garcia Urbano, Mayor of Purtisima, said in a press conference that this event is one of many that will be organized to promote the Tourism Corridor that includes and has an impact in many communities, from the City of Purisima del Rincon down to Jalpa de Canovas, and now it is the turn for Canada de Negros.
It is estimated that 2 thousand to 3 thousand visitors will come to this First Agave Festival, considering locals as well as people from neighboring cities and States like Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Michoacan, San Luis Potosi, Guerrero and Queretaro.
There are already 35 exhibitors registered, to receive visitors starting at 12 noon with music, artists from the Culture House, mariachi Lluvia de Estrellas, as well as La Rosa equestrian club.
Jose Isidro Cuevas Carrillo, General Director of Territorial Order of the Secretary of the Environment –SMAOT- said that 54% of the land in Purisima is good for agave production.
Adriana Lorena Jasso Medina, Director of Projects of the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato said that these type of events increase the diversity of products and services offered by Purisima, and making its participation important for the activity in Guanajuato.
Jasso said that 7 municipalities produce agave in Guanajuato and of course, Purisima is on the list with the Certificate of Origin and she also said that recently these municipalities became part of the Program of Environmentally Responsible Agave –ARA- and that they work closely with the certification of each producer.
Present in the event were members of the City Council, the Delegate of Canada de Negros and the Director of Economic Development and Tourism, Oscar Munoz Ramirez.
The Officials said that this event is guaranteed for the participation of families, protecting families that spend time together, protecting the well being of participants and the security in the event and the route to the place.
