In the celebration of the traditional “Day of the Holy Cross,” the People’s Government emphasized the importance of the role that workers in the construction sector play, today and always, in modernizing and increasing the competitiveness of Guanajuato.

On behalf of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, congratulated all the construction workers, “Please accept my warmest greetings and congratulations from the Governor. Congratulations, because the Guanajuato we share is everyone’s work and is built every day, thanks to the efforts of thousands of workers who, brick by brick, erect the homes, businesses, and buildings that shape the landscape of our State, creating spaces for life and success for all.”

Jimenez noted that with this commemoration, we celebrate the faith, work, perseverance, and talent of those who dedicate their lives to build the projects we need for a better future for our State and families.

Jimenez Lona said it’s not just about jobs and the direct financial impact they represent for the 46 municipalities, but also about how, with each well-done project, the construction sector strengthens all other areas of the economy and community.

“I ask you to share our gratitude with your families and colleagues, along with the full commitment of the People’s Government to continue working as a team and promoting infrastructure development in the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato. Where there’s work, there’s progress,” said the Official.

Jimenez Lona thanked Ana Bertha Arteaga Alvarez, President of the Association of Architects and Engineers of Leon, for inviting him to this traditional event. The event is a space for collaboration, dialogue, and learning that benefits not only the professionals who participate, but also society as a whole.

The event was attended by Mayor Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, as well as representatives from the Guanajuato Delegation of the Mexican Chamber of Construction (CMIC), CEMEX, the Association of Architects and Engineers of Leon, the College of Civil Engineers of Leon, and the College of Architects of Leon.
