The webinar “Entrepreneur Women of Guanajuato” was held, which COFOCE and WeConnect International held to promote the Guanajuato supply in the automotive, medical and agro-food sectors.

In the United States there is a program called “Diverse Suppliers” in which part of its goals is to add suppliers from the minority segment such as those mentioned, and thus allocate approximately 10 percent of its purchases to this sector.

The program integrates companies with Latino managers, women, veterans and people from the LGBTQ+ community.

In the webinar, which was directed by Ixchel Alcantara, from WeConnect International, the requirements, benefits and Women-owned certification (which accredits them as owners of the companies for decision taking) were explained to the participating businesswomen/entrepreneurs) that they must have to be part of this portfolio of suppliers and that there are more Guanajuatense products in the world.

“Our mission is to put money into the hands of businesswomen like you, why? Because we make a difference in our communities”, said Ixchel Alcantara.

Diana Estefania Gutierrez Valtierra the Representative for District 7 was in the event and thanked and recognized these programs that promote and empower Guanajuatense women.

“I want to recognize this event held by COFOCE and WeConnect International, in coordination with Amexme, the 10 thousand Women United for Mexico and AMMJE, I know that this event represents an opportunity for women entrepreneurs, an opportunity to learn about these advantages of being women entrepreneurs in various key sectors such as automotive, metalworking, agro-food, transportation and logistics; I am sure, I recognize and deeply appreciate the work you do in collaboration, with this mission of strengthening and certifying companies led by women, and connecting them with commercial opportunities at a global level,” said Representative Diana Gutiérrez.

Diana said that from the Chamber of Representatives, she will continue working to strengthen women in all sectors.

More than 300 businesswomen from Guanajuato participated in the event, in which in this first phase, it will be determined who are interested in this project, and who has the requirements to continue with the process.

COFOCE will continue to work with Guanajuato businesswomen so that Guanajuato’s exports continue to grow, and we manage to maintain constant growth.
