COFOCE signed an agreement with Alibaba, digital platform born in China.
A productive alliance
The agreement is based on a collaboration to serve companies with different programs designed by COFOCE and Atomic 88, an agency associated for Global Initiatives of the Alibaba Group in Mexico, and thus provide benefits to export businesses and to those with a potential to export.
Added value
The area of opportunity for B2B (Business to Business) cross-border electronic commerce is in the value it has worldwide, since it represents up to 10 times more than B2C (Business to Consumer) commerce, which is why it is of great importance that Guanajuato companies have a strategic plan to create a digital business model of this type.
Alibaba has more than 26 million active buyers, 400,000 daily estimates from the different industrial sectors with a presence in more than 200 countries, with the United States of America as the number one country in platform sales.
Construction products
The United States is one of the main trading partners of Mexico and, of course, of Guanajuato, that is why the launch event was held to publicize the agreement that will support exporting companies in Guanajuato, starting with the Construction sector, which already has a multi-product online store on Alibaba.
Signers and witnesses of the Alliance are:
- Luis Ernesto Rojas Avila
Director General of COFOCE - Ulises Aguilar Nahle

Great opportunities
“Today we have great challenges, health challenges, unfortunately wars, economic challenges… In the face of each of these crises, sometimes great opportunities also arise, and there are businessmen who know how to take advantage of them to take the initiative. Today, there is a great opportunity that has been growing in the last ten years, one that has grown much more in the last year, which is the B2B business form, as Americans call it, or business to business. For this, platforms are required, and even to enter a different work culture”
Ulises Aguilar Nahle
President of COFOCE
The growth of exports through digital media, led COFOCE to generate a program with Atomic 88, the only office authorized to manage Alibaba.com stores in Latin America and with this initiative it was possible to create a multi-product store for specific sectors, such as construction in this case.
Reach more countries
“With this platform we want to cover international markets, we see this very professional website, with an impressive database, we visualize that with this platform we can reach many more countries and expose our products globally. We see in the short term that our products are requested in several countries around the world and with this openness we can have a better position and greatly enhance our company”
Luis Angel Hernandez Paramo
General Director of Hersan Hi-Tech in Plastics
The Crossborder eCommerce team of COFOCE, has served 209 companies in Guanajuato, of which 41 have sold through digital channels and they have been able to sell more than 3 million dollars.
“Opportunities are really coming, the number of orders that are coming from the United States and Canada is a phenomenon that we had not experienced in 30 years and the window of opportunity that we are experiencing is unique. So we have to take advantage of all the tools and one of them is B2B; and that is why we need to bring companies from Guanajuato to one of the main marketplaces”
