“Transparency is not only a government responsibility, but a joint effort, which is why we promote citizen participation, they are the watchful eyes that guarantee that each work, each project and each action meets the established objectives”, said Arturo Godinez Serrano, head of the Secretary of Transparency and Accountability.
In the inauguration of the Second Meeting of Citizen Participation and Social Oversight, the head of the STRC spoke about the importance of involving citizens in government actions.
“As the Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, has mentioned, we work to get girls, boys, young people, women and men involved in the supervision of government work, in the monitoring and surveillance of public resources”, said Godinez.
For the 18th edition of the Short Transparency Contest, a space for reflection and expression is provided that promotes the active participation of young people, on the culture of transparency and accountability, where it seeks to promote their creativity, interest and initiative.
With the theme “Citizen surveillance to prevent corruption”, 80 short films were received from people who carry out monitoring, supervision and surveillance actions of government work, thereby promoting the correct use of public resources, transparency and accountability in the actions of the government.
This is why the National Award for Social Comptrollership in its State phase recognizes the best practices carried out by the Social Comptrollership committees. This award calls on society organizations to present proposals related to surveillance in public management that promotes the best use of public money.
Finally, the head of the STRC said that the way to ensure that Guanajuato continues to be the Greatness of Mexico is with the participation of everyone, because by working together we make our State honest, efficient and transparent.
