During the transmission of the 3rd. edition of the Rally of the Nations Guanajuato 200 years, TV4 and international television stations will show in more than 180 countries around the world the attractions, destinations and tourist products offered by Guanajuato.
At a press conference in the Plaza Fundadores of Leon, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, representing Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, applauded that the entity continues to reinforce sustainable economic tourism reintegration through international events.
From February 23 to 25, more than 33 drivers – who have been world champions and drivers trained in the TV4 Guanajuato Team – from Mexico, England, United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Peru , Argentina, Spain, and Brazil will compete in pairs touring magnificent natural, historical, architectural, and commercial settings in Leon, Guanajuato Capital, Silao, and Romita, venues of this 180-kilometer Rally.
Alvarez celebrated that this Rally that was created, conceived, and born in Guanajuato is developing its third edition in destinations of Greatness.
“The Rally is an example of the collaborative work that the State Government does with the municipalities and the organizers, because we are very clear that we are a State with the ideal infrastructure to carry out important international events and receive, on this occasion, more than 173 a thousand people and an economic impact of 180 million pesos,” said Álvarez Brunel.
In this edition, the arrival of more than 17 thousand tourists is also expected at 1 to 5 star hotels, with an average occupancy of 41%. Travelers have secured more than 30 thousand rooms in the entity, of which more than 12 thousand are in the 4 host municipalities.
The tourist attractions that the pilots and their co-pilots will pass through and, therefore, will be shown off for more than 40 hours to the digital audience through social networks and digital platforms of TV4 and international television stations are:
- The Alhondiga de Granaditas, Arco de La Calzada, Plaza Expiatorio in Leon, Las Minas, Las Dunas, Outlet Mulza, Forum Cultural Guanajuato, agave areas, tunnels of Guanajuato, Chichimequillas, and Historical Centers of the host cities
Motorsport fans will have the opportunity to know and visit in Guanajuato:
- The six Magic Towns, the five Archaeological Zones, the Cerro del Cubilete, the third most visited religious sanctuary in Mexico; they will be able to purchase leather products, GTO Brand products, crafts; and taste delicious cuisine made by renowned traditional chefs and cooks

“The Rally is an international concept that began in 2009, was later held in 2022, and now returns in 2024; This event tests the skills of the competitors, who seek to score more points and be winners. This automobile show, unique in the world, is enriched by the Shakedown, in Romita; Pre-plucked and Brinco, in Silao; Street Stage, in Guanajuato Capital; and Rally Campus and Street Stage, in León,” explained Gilles Spitalier, Director of the Rally of Nations.
