All ready for Recharged2 Battle of Robots

The Recharge2 Robot Battle returns with more innovation and technology. High school, college and university students will participate

The Recarga2 Robot Battle returns for its second edition, consolidating itself as a key event to promote robotics and technology among students of all education levels.

The tournament will be held from September 17 to 20 at the Palenque de la Feria in Leon, with the participation of teams from basic, upper secondary and higher education institutions in Guanajuato.

The Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, Jorge Enrique Hernandez Meza, highlighted the importance of this type of event to promote Mindfacture and position the State as a benchmark in technological innovation. “This tournament is not only a platform for students to demonstrate their skills, but also an opportunity to be inspired and explore their potential in high-impact technological areas”, said the Secretary.

Hernandez Meza also mentioned that 16 thousand people are expected to attend. Meza reported that 72 teams from 22 municipalities of Guanajuato will participate, and recalled that Guanajuato has around 50 thousand students involved in different types of robotics. This edition will include, for the first time, the participation of junior high school and high school students.

The winners of the four categories will be awarded with a cultural and robotics experience in South Korea, which will be held from November 10 to 21. “It will be the first time that students from Guanajuato will have the opportunity to live this experience,” said Araceli Reyes Martinez, General Director of Juventudes Guanajuato, who also highlighted the importance of this type of incentive to promote young talent.

The event will be open to the public, and those wishing to attend can register at batalladerobots.guanajuato.gob.mx. This competition promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees.

The event’s main objective is to promote the development of technological and scientific skills in young people, bringing them closer to fields such as automation and educational robotics, which are essential to face the challenges of the future. Organized by the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato -SEG- in collaboration with IDEA Gto, Juventudes Guanajuato, the State Training Institute -IECA- and TV4, the competition will test the creativity, knowledge and skills of the participants.

During the four days of competition, the teams, made up of four students and one teacher, will compete in different categories according to their education level, pitting their robots against each other in battles inside a cage with obstacles. The semi-finals and finals, scheduled for September 20, will reward the most innovative and skilled teams.

Antonio Reus Montano, Director of IDEA Gto, highlighted that the State’s public policy seeks to bring innovation, science and technology to young people in an attractive way. Reus pointed out that Guanajuato ranks first nationally in patent applications per 100,000 inhabitants of the economically active population.
