Tourist service providers met with Secretary of Security and commissioners of the 10 regions that make up the CONFIA strategy
Work is done hand in hand with citizens to strengthen tourist security

Ensuring tourism development in a safe environment is one of the commitments of the Secretary of Security and Peace.
For this reason, 187 representatives of the tourism sector met with the commissioners of the 10 regions of Guanajuato to listen to and address the needs of business owners, hoteliers, restaurateurs, tourist guides, artisans and tourism service providers in order to offer more security in this productive cycle of great importance for Guanajuato.
As part of the Operational Coordination strategy of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force (CONFIA), this meeting established mechanisms for ongoing collaboration to ensure safe and constantly growing tourism.
The commissioners in charge of each region shared the strategies implemented to reduce crime in each area and reaffirmed their commitment to work directly with society to generate solutions that adapt to their needs.
In addition, the anti-extortion hotline 800 TE CUIDO (800-83 28 436) and the number 089 for anonymous accusations, key support and protection tools, were made available.
Following the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo and on the instructions of the Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, this effort was adopted in the regions:
- 1, which includes Ocampo and San Felipe
- 2, which includes San Diego de la Union, San Miguel de Allende and Dolores Hidalgo
- 4, which includes Juventino Rosas, Comonfort, Celaya, Apaseo el Grande, Apaseo el Alto, Salvatierra and Tarimoro
- 7, made up of Irapuato, Salamanca, Villagran, Cortazar and Pueblo Nuevo
- 9, made up of Guanajuato, Silao and Romita
- 10, made up of Purisima del Rincon, San Francisco del Rincon and Leon
The goal is to make this dialogue permanent in each of the regions, to work together and cover the state’s security needs with each productive sector.
The Secretary of Security and Peace will continue to work in collaboration with citizens to address their demands and ensure that Guanajuato remains a prosperous and safe tourist destination.
