Guanajuato is noted as an outstanding tourist destination in Mexico

Guanajuato conquered the 45th Edition of the Tourism Market -Tianguis Turistico- at Merida, Yucatan, thanks to its diversity in tourist services and products, its varied culture, natural attractions, gastronomy and arts, its original products and more than anything its team work by State and Municipal Government and private sector.
The attraction
For another year Guanajuatenses attracted the attention of participants in the most important tourist ‘fiesta’ in Mexico and Latin America, called this time “Tourism is reborn”, an event that occurred Nov 17th to Nov 19th at the Convention Center Siglo XXI, in Merida.
For the Government of Guanajuato and its Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, it is absolutely important to assist, support and promote Tourism in the world, since it is a great industry that creates jobs.
“Live Great Stories”
The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, through the Direction of Public Relations, coordinated efforts of tourist promotion with service providers and with municipalities so that, as a team, all work in showing and promoting the Greatness of Mexico from the stand “Live Great Stories”, a space that looked full of colors, well alighted and with decorations of events of great format, attractive and many tourist products.
A gratifying event
“Guanajuato leaves satisfied, enthusiastic, and thankful with the attitude of visitors to the event in this great tourist ‘fiesta’. This festive enthusiasm moves us to be able to do a team work with the different organisms of the National Government to promote tourism as a Country, it is gratifying”, said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato.
In 2021, Guanajuato was present with 2 cities that are World Heritage Sites:
- Guanajuato City
- San Miguel de Allende
Also 6 Magic Towns were presented:
- Mineral de Pozos
- Jalpa de Canovas
- Salvatierra
- Dolores Hidalgo CIN
- Yuriria
- Comonfort
Plus in a promotion participation were:
- Leon
- Irapuato
- Celaya
Well represented
Those 11 cities were represented by their Mayors, the Office of Conventions and Visitors, Directions of Tourism, Councils of Tourist Promotion, artisans and dancers, all represented Guanajuato well through business meetings, gastronomy tasting, artistic presentations and prizes they have won.
Foirst National Alliance
During the 3 days, Guanajuato confirmed its commitment with the “Center-West Deal for Tourism”, the first national Alliance –during the Covid 19 pandemic- formed by the Secretaries of Tourism of Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas and Guanajuato, the six States are committed to reactivate tourism in the region through transversal campaigns.
“Discover Mexico”
The City of Guanajuato and Salvatierra were recognized by Reader’s Digest in the category “Discover Mexico”, a section where they promote the tourist diversity of tourist destinatios, their infrastructure and support to the editorial to promote tourism in Mexico.
