In the consolidated export scheme several Guanajuatense companies share the same transport operation and its logistics costs

For a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise, starting to export or maintaining frequent shipments to the United States can represent a challenge: many times they have product ready to sell, but not enough volume to fill a whole truck and assume the cost of transportation on their own.
To address this need, COFOCE is promoting a consolidated export scheme for Guanajuato Fashion and Footwear companies, through which different companies can share the same logistics operation and make better use of the available space.
The logic is simple: if one company needs to ship some pallets and another has merchandise with a compatible route, their loads can be consolidated to make the transfer to the United States more efficient.
This way, SMEs can access more competitive logistics alternatives, without the size of their shipment becoming a limitation to reach the US market.
This initiative is part of the vision of the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, and the Government of the People, to provide tools that respond to the real needs of those who produce, generate jobs and seek new growth opportunities from Guanajuato.
The scheme is aimed at companies that already export or have the potential to do so to the United States, especially those that make frequent shipments, handle small or medium volumes and do not require hiring a full unit.
Its benefits include:
- Optimized logistics costs, access to competitive rates, and better use of transport units.
The scheme considers standard pallets with approximate weights of between 300 and 500 kilograms, although each operation is analyzed individually.
Before integrating a company into the scheme, the COFOCE team conducts a diagnose to understand how it exports and what it needs.
“First, we need to review the operation and its frequency; the dimensions and weight of the pallets, which customs office they cross, and their destination. With this information, we aim to align the operation with other companies,” said Arturo Martinez Rocha, Coordinator of Competitiveness.
With these type of solutions, COFOCE seeks to bring foreign trade closer to more Guanajuato companies and support them according to their size, capabilities and stage of export development.
