Six hat companies from San Francisco del Rincon are strengthening their strategy to represent Guanajuato at MAGIC Las Vegas, one of the most important events in the fashion industry
The initiative, promoted by the Secretary of Economy and COFOCE, strengthens the export capability of MSMEs and opens new opportunities

Behind each hat there is much more than design and tradition: there are stories of entrepreneurship, talent, and companies that are now ready to take the name of Guanajuato to international markets.
With that in mind, the 5th SME Business Challenge was carried out, an initiative promoted by the Secretary of Economy, through COFOCE, which allows companies to test their export projects before representing the State at international fairs.
This edition features six hat companies from San Francisco del Rincon, all proudly led by women, who, after completing their training in the Export Without Borders program of COFOCE, presented their commercial strategies to a panel of specialists.
The businesswomen received observations and recommendations to strengthen their value propositions, improve their internationalization strategy and arrive with better tools at MAGIC Las Vegas, considered one of the most important events in the fashion industry worldwide.
“I want to encourage you to take advantage of everything available to you. Today we see companies here with whom we have worked hand in hand throughout this export process. Take advantage of COFOCE, the Secretary of Economy, and the institutions that are part of the Prosperity Axis. Our work doesn’t end with this event. We will continue to support you permanently before, during, and after your participation in Sourcing at MAGIC, because we believe in your companies and in your capacity to go ever further,” said Luis Antonio Vargas, director of COFOCE.
This initiative is part of the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, who, through the People’s Government, promotes an economy with more opportunities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, strengthening their competitiveness so that more Guanajuatense products reach new international markets.
The support provided by COFOCE includes:
- Training, specialized advice, and networking opportunities that allow companies to develop solid strategies to compete in the global environment
“This is not only a jump for Oklahoma Hats, but also for other companies and manufacturers in San Francisco del Rincon who are looking for growth opportunities and want people to know about our products and services, because we are fully competitive companies,” said Juliana Velazquez, a businesswoman.
With initiatives like the SME Business Challenge, Guanajuato strengthens the growth of its companies, boosts exports, and generates new opportunities for economic development for Guanajuatense families.
