In order to boost commerce, strengthen micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and promote the creative talent of Guanajuato, the Secretary of Economy held Fashion Wednesday at the People’s Pavilion, as part of the activities of the Vive Leon 2026 Summer Festival.
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, noted that, under the vision of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, spaces like this are being promoted to strengthen local businesses and showcase the talent, creativity and quality of products made in Guanajuato.
During this edition, nearly 40 Marca Gto companies from municipalities such as Leon, Irapuato, San Francisco del Rincon and Uriangato participated, with sectors like the textile, footwear, leather goods, handicrafts, pet clothing, accessories and other creative industries sectors, that exhibited their products and strengthened their connection with new consumers.
“When we buy a Marca Gto product, we not only acquire quality; we support the dream of an entrepreneur, strengthen a company, generate employment, and contribute to more families continuing to grow,” said Villasenor Aguilar.
In the event 76 points of sale were delivered to companies with the Marca Gto Emblem, fulfilling the commitment made during the First Congress of People’s Commerce, to strengthen the marketing of their products, improve customer service and boost their sales.
The Secretary of Economy invites the public to enjoy the second edition of “Fashion Wednesday”, which will be held on July 29th, at 3 pm, on Calzada Guanajuato, located in Distrito Leon MX.
The People’s Pavilion is establishing itself as one of the main showcases for local businesses. From July 17 to August 2, it brings together 476 Marca Gto companies from 22 municipalities, exhibiting products from the agro-food, artisan, textile, leather and footwear, and developing industries sectors in Halls B100, the Parteluces area, the Poliforum Promenade, and the Guanajuato Esplanade at Distrito Leon MX.
As part of the agenda to boost the State’s economic development, the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, participated in the Labor Forum “With Shoemaker Pride” 2026, organized by the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG).
Villasenor said that Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s commitment to continue strengthening one of Guanajuato’s most representative industries, which includes 6,225 economic units, generates more than 108,000 direct and indirect jobs, and, together with the Fashion Cluster, contributes 7.5 percent of the State’s Gross Domestic Product.
The Secretary of Economy noted that Guanajuato is the only State in Mexico and Latin America that recognizes micro-credentials within its regulatory framework, a model endorsed by UNESCO that allows the development of specific skills in short periods to respond to the needs of the productive sector.
Villasenor noted the work carried out through the Standardization and Certification Committee of the Footwear and Leather Goods Sector, in coordination with the Business Value Center of Mexico (CEVEM) of the CICEG, through which the profiles of Quality Inspector in Footwear Manufacturing Processes and Supervisor of Production Processes in Footwear and Leather Goods were standardized, strengthening the professionalization and competitiveness of the industry.
The People’s Government reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting strategies that strengthen talent, foster innovation, and generate more opportunities for Guanajuatense companies to continue growing and consolidate as national and international leaders.
