The State Institute of Training (IECA) and BJXMODA held the casting for the third edition of MODA IN to select, for the first time, the MODA IN Ambassadors in the categories of Designer, Seamstress and Artisan; they will represent the creative talent of Guanajuato and develop projects that strengthen the fashion industry in the State.

After completing a 40-hour specialized training program, more than 70 people, including designers, artisans, and seamstresses, received their certificates. Of that group, 43 participants advanced to the selection phase, where they presented their proposals to a jury made up of representatives from the Secretary of Economy, IECA, the Secretary of Tourism, COFOCE, APIMEX, CICEG, Juventudes Gente, Avantar Creativo and Sanper Mexicom.

“Today you conclude a training phase that prepares you to face new challenges. We are thrilled to have participants from various municipalities in Guanajuato, because that demonstrates the reach that MODA IN has achieved.

The program has evolved and, for the first time, will recognize three Ambassadors:

  • A designer, a seamstress, and an artisan

MODA IN expands opportunities for those who strengthen the value chain of the fashion industry,” said Cristobal Garcia Esteves, Director of Communication and Outreach at IECA.

During the casting, the jury evaluated criteria such as conceptualization, visual impact, commercial value, use of local suppliers, safety and projection, as well as the quality in the making and presentation of the design or product.

MODA IN was launched in 2024 as a strategy to professionalize the fashion sector through specialized training, industry connections, and support for brand development.

Those selected as MODA IN Ambassadors will receive technical and creative support to develop their projects, access to specialized suppliers and infrastructure, and the opportunity to present their work during the Design Route at the closing of BJXMODA.

With the evolution of this program, the People’s Government strengthens a collaborative model that promotes design, sewing and craftsmanship as pillars of the fashion value chain, positioning Guanajuato as a national benchmark for creativity, innovation and talent.
