To improve connectivity and road safety in the communities of the region, the Secretary of Public Works (SOP) invested 8 million 999 thousand 576 pesos in the second stage of periodic maintenance of the Silao–Trejo–San Agustin highway.
“Maintaining our roads is a priority for the People’s Government, and our governor, Libia Dennise, has a clear instruction: to keep Guanajuato as the State with the best roads in the country,” said the head of the SOP, Juan Pablo Perez Beltran.
The work was carried out over a length of 2.0 kilometers, on a two-lane road, one lane in each direction, with a crown width of 7 meters and an asphalt concrete road surface.
The actions included the placement of hot asphalt mix, hydraulic base and wearing course by means of premixed seal coating, in addition to horizontal signage with lane separator line and edge lines.
Additionally, retroreflective buttons and delineators were installed on the pavement to enhance road safety for users.
The company Acarreos Terracerias y Edificacion, SA de CV carried out this conservation work, which benefits more than 46,000 inhabitants and improves traffic conditions for the more than 8,600 vehicles that travel daily on this road.
Perez Beltran emphasized that maintaining road infrastructure translates into greater safety for users, in addition to generating a positive impact on the quality of life of the population, strengthening regional connectivity, and boosting the economic and social development of Guanajuato.
