The State DIF system presents the program ‘Centenarian Stories’ to honor the legacy of elders of Guanajuato who already are or are close to be 100 years old

In order to rescue the history, wisdom and legacy of older people, the Guanajuato State DIF System launched the Centenarian Stories program, aimed aimed to all Guanajuatenses to identify women and men who have already reached or are about to reach 100 years of life or more.
The President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF System, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, called on Guanajuatense families to join this initiative and help locate those who represent a role model for new generations.
“We want to invite all Guanajuatense residents to help us find that family member, friend, neighbor, or acquaintance who has already turned or is about to turn 100 years old. Each of these people have an extraordinary story to tell, a lesson to share, and an invaluable legacy that has contributed to build the Guanajuato we know today,” said Montesinos.
The Official noted the importance of recognizing older people for their contribution to society, as well as for the experiences and lessons they have passed on to their families and communities.
“Honoring our centenarians is also recognizing the living memory of our State; they are women and men who, through effort, work, and love for their families, have left their mark on Guanajuato. Their experience and wisdom deserve to be heard and celebrated,” said Montesinos Carranza.
The General Director of the State DIF System, Jose Alfonso Borja Pimentel, pointed out that this call responds to a mandate of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to reach out directly to older people and attend them.
