‘Code Heart’ is activated and a patient is saved

Thanks to a timely and coordinated intervention by medical and nursing staff of the Secretary of Health, a patient’s life was saved through the application of the “Code Heart Attack” at the General Hospital of Acambaro.

Juan, 68 years old, was under care in the Internal Medicine service of the General Hospital of Acambaro, after presenting an acute case of chest discomfort.

Therefore, the health team immediately activated the Code Heart Attack protocol, an institutional strategy that allows for a rapid and organized response to cardiovascular emergencies.

The Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortes Alcala, reported that during the event, the patient presented a cardiorespiratory arrest, so advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers were performed for eight minutes, successfully restoring his vital signs.

The patient was safely transferred from Acambaro to the Aranda de la Parra Hospital, in Leon, to receive specialized care in interventional cardiology.

This result reflects the coordinated work between the Internal Medicine, Intensive Care and Referral and Counter-referral services, reaffirming the commitment of the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato to timely, safe and quality care.
