More infrastructure for Metropolitan areas

The State Administration is working to get resources for public works in municipalities in Metropolitan Areas

The State Government is planning on how to use the budget for sustainable projects

Thanks to actions by the Secretary of the Environment and Territorial Order (SMAOT), the Technical Committee of the Metropolitan Fund aproved 11 projects for Guanajuato that will require an investment for more than 88 million pesos.

Possible and sustainable

The Metropolitan Fund has as its goal to provide resources to programs and infrastructure projects, that are proven to be possible and sustainable, directed to promote the correct planning of regional, urban, public transport and non motorized mobility projects and of the territorial order to promote economic competitivity, sustainability and productive capacity in metropolitan areas.

Priority projects

Municipalities can promote projects of infrastructure to the Metropolitan Fund in different sectors that are a priority.

After analyzing projects presented, the Fund aproved projects for an amount of 10.3 million pesos for Programs of Urban and Ecological Order Development in metropolitan areas in Celaya, Moroleon–Uriangato, Guanajuato, Leon-Silao, San Francisco del Rincon–Purisima del Rincon and Queretaro–Apaseo el Alto.

Balanced, efficient and competitive

The Program is a strategic instrument of territorial planning in metropolitan zones, to achieve a more balanced, efficient and competitive environment focused on improving the life of Guanajuatenses, protecting the environment and the natural resources.

In Guanajuato there are 7 metropolitan areas:

• San Francisco del Rincon
• Moroleon-Uriangato
• Celaya
• Penjamo-La Piedad
• Guanajuato
• Apaseo el Alto-Queretaro
