“I reiterate that the people’s causes are our causes, that the pain of the victims must also be our pain, and the hope of the families is, without a doubt, our own hope,” said the People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, while participating in the presentation of the 2025 Activity Report of the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

The State Governor reaffirmed her support for the Attorney General, Gerardo Vazquez Alatriste, and the staff of the FGE, emphasizing that in the vision of the People’s Government, security is not conceived as an isolated action, but as a shared task.

“No one who threatens peace is stronger than the State and the unity of its institutions and levels of Government. What we have today in Guanajuato is a common effort based on trust, which is our greatest strength,” said Governor Libia Dennise.

The CONFIA strategy has been consolidated as the axis that articulates the efforts of the People’s Government with the FGE, the security forces and the municipal institutions.

“You are not alone in this task, you are not alone, count on your Governor, on this Government of the People, to walk with firm steps and with our hearts set on this greater purpose that unites us, because for this land it is worth giving everything,” said the Governor.

Prosecutor Gerardo Vazquez expressed his gratitude for the support of the People’s Government, and said, “We recognize all the support and inter-institutional collaboration that has been provided to this State Attorney General’s Office, for the benefit of the citizens, always with the objective of forming a common front against crime and attending to the direct and indirect victims of the crimes that we are responsible for investigating and prosecuting.”

In this way, the close collaboration of the Attorney General’s Office and the People’s Government has made it possible to strengthen institutional capacities, improve investigation processes and move towards a more accessible, sensitive and effective justice system, said Vazquez.

As a result of this collaboration, which also includes other State and Federal agencies, clear and measurable results have been achieved; intentional homicide, which reached its peak in February 2025, registered a 65 percent reduction until January 2026, becoming the month with the fewest cases since 2018 and accumulating eleven consecutive months of decline.

High-impact crimes decreased by 35 percent between October 2024 and January 2026. Between January 2025 and January 2026, femicide decreased by 50 percent; robbery with violence, by 34.7 percent; and extortion, by 31 percent.

In this Prosecutor’s Office Report was present Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, Secretary of Government; Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, Secretary of Security and Peace of the State; and other military, judicial, legislative and civil Authorities.
