From January 9 to February 4, Leon opens its doors to one of the most important family fairs in Mexico, with a clear vision of inclusion, closeness and social sense

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the Blessing and Inauguration ceremony of the 150th edition of the Leon State Fair 2026, as part of the 450th anniversary of the founding of the City.
“I feel deeply moved, because for us the Leoneses, we know that there is no season that speaks to the heart as much as this one, which is so significant and represents our State Fair of Leon,” the Governor said.
For the first time, the Fair will have two days of free admission; the first of them was this January 9th, called People’s Friday, a decision promoted by Governor Libia Dennise, so that all families can enjoy this great celebration.
Furthermore, the Municipality of Leon is joining this initiative with a second day of free access on January 20, the date on which the City’s 450th anniversary is commemorated, reinforcing the coordinated work of the State and the Municipality for the benefit of the people.
The Leon State Fair is establishing itself as a historic edition and as a space for meeting, identity and pride for the families of Leon and for those who visit it from all over Mexico.
“Returning to the Fair is like breathing in that air that smells of traditional bread of the fair, that smells of tradition and shared joy. It’s like feeling like a child again, it’s like feeling our hearts beat faster because we feel at home. Today we have so much to be proud of and excited about,” said the State Governor.
From January 9th to February 4th, Leon opens its doors to one of Mexico’s most important family fairs. This year, more than 6 million visitors are expected.
The 2026 Leon State Fair offers a wide range of cultural, artistic and entertainment activities, with multiple free access areas, concerts (14 free), family shows and traditional expressions, consolidating Leon as a national benchmark for coexistence, identity and hospitality.
After the blessing of the facilities of the Fair the Governor of the People inaugurated this great celebration and toured the pavilions and stands of the 2026 State Fair of Leon.
With Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, Mayor of Leon and Hector Rodriguez Velazquez, President of the Board of Trustees of the Leon Fair, Libia Dennise inaugurated the stand of the State Congress and the stand of the Guest State of San Luis Potosi, where its Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona was present.
This tour included the People’s Pavilion, a space where local productive talent is concentrated, and the New Beginning stand, developed in coordination with the Secretary of Security and Peace.
Libia also inaugurated the Guanajuato ¡Si Sabe! Pavilion, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside traditional cooks, who share the gastronomic treasures that give identity and roots to Guanajuato.
Then, the Governor visited the stands of the Health League, the Municipal DIF Inclusion program, and the Marca Guanajuato stand.
Finally, Libia inaugurated the Leon Livestock Expo 2026, one of the most emblematic spaces of the fair and a national benchmark for the livestock sector, where she recognized the importance of the Guanajuatense fields and reaffirmed her support for the producers.
The People’s Government reaffirmed its commitment to the State Fair of Leon by making an investment of 150 million pesos, to promote a comprehensive organization that, in addition to entertainment, strengthens identity, the local economy, tourism and community development.
