The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato (UVEG), through its Community Tele-High School, held the Flag Ceremony for the RAL 2000 team from the San Jose de la Palma Community Tele-High School, in Dolores Hidalgo, Cradle of National Independence.

The team achieved 3rd place nationally in the WER Mexico Tournament, an accomplishment that earned them direct entry to the WER 2025 World Education Robotics Tournament, to be held in Shanghai, China.

This result marks a milestone for the Community Tele-High School, as it is only the second time a team from this subsystem has reached the world stage of this tournament.

The team’s progress reflects the TBC’s commitment to developing STEM skills, providing education robotics training since 2021, and the outstanding participation of its students in municipal, regional, and state competitions.

The flag-raising event aimed to formalize institutional representation, strengthen team identity and recognize the academic and technological efforts of the selected young people.

Participation in Shanghai includes a high-value academic and cultural agenda, including visits to Jiao Tong University, museums, a night tour of the Huangpu River, bullet train trips, as well as tours of the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.

“This team represents the talent, discipline, and capabilities of our community-based distance learning high schools. We will continue to support your growth with more resources, connectivity, and specialized equipment, but above all, with a vision focused on your motivation and well-being. It fills me with pride to know that students from Guanajuato will carry the name of Mexico all the way to China,” said the rector of UVEG, Ricardo Narvaez Martínez.

“I am deeply excited to represent my team and my community at TBC San Jose de La Palma. This dream was born amidst challenges, mistakes, learning, and many hours of work, but every effort made us stronger and more united. We will compete alongside thousands of students from all over the world, and that motivates me to ask myself how far I can go if I continue to strive and dream. I thank UVEG, the municipal authorities, my school, our teacher, my teammates, and above all, my parents for believing in me and allowing young people from rural communities to have world-class experiences. We’re going for all: RAL 2000, to China and beyond!” said Rosa Sanchez, a member of the RAL 2000 team.
