The Institute of Innovation, Science and Entrepreneurship for Competitiveness and the Guanajuato State Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CICEG) presented the results of the first generation of the INNOVA CICEG Business Acceleration Program, a support model that strengthens the productivity, innovation and competitiveness of emerging companies in the sector.

In front of business owners and entrepreneurs, the support program finished, with nine companies in the footwear and leather goods sector receiving specialized training from leading mentors of the local production ecosystem.

“In this industry that has accompanied the development of Guanajuato, the future is undoubtedly focused on all activities. This Innova CICEG program is a very valuable relationship; this mentorship relationship is horizontal, on equal footing. This act of sharing experience, which in many cases comes from several generations, includes the secret formula tailored to a specific sector,” said Juan Antonio Reus Montaño, General Director of the Innovation Institute.
Reus added that this program “can’t be stopped” because it arises from the will of the people and urged footwear companies to participate in the 2026 version of the INNOVA CICEG Business Acceleration Program 2.0.

“With these actions, CICEG and the Innovation Institute reaffirm their commitment to accelerating innovation, developing organizational capabilities, and fostering the sustainable growth of the leather, footwear, and leather goods sector, strengthening their presence in national and international markets,” he said.
The process included a final pitch to industry leaders by José Luis Andrade Rodríguez , a renowned speaker, mentor and independent advisor, co-founder and director of IMAN Business School .

The companies that benefited had the opportunity to exhibit their products in the commercial halls of SAPICA 93 , connecting directly with potential national and international buyers.
The mentored companies explained how this experience allowed them to optimize processes, innovate in their business models and strengthen their commercial strategies, reinforcing their ability to compete in the global market.

CICEG and the Innovation Institute officially announced the launch of a second generation of the program for 2026.
