The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato (UVEG) and the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office of the State of Guanajuato (PRODHEG) sealed a historic alliance by signing a collaboration agreement that recognizes education as the most powerful tool to guarantee dignity, equality, and justice in every corner of the State.

Both institutions open the doors to virtual training so that girls, boys, adolescents, women, people with disabilities, remote communities, and older adults can exercise their rights and transform their lives.

“The signing of this agreement constitutes a transcendental step towards the consolidation of an activity that reflects our institutional mission: to promote a culture of human rights and, through education, strengthen the construction of a more just, inclusive, and respectful society for human dignity,” said Karla Gabriela Alcaraz Olvera, Human Rights Ombudsman for the State of Guanajuato.

“You have no idea how many women we’ve met along the way who abandoned their dreams of studying for family or social reasons. Today, with the support of UVEG and thanks to this agreement, we want these women, regardless of their age or circumstances, to fulfill their dreams and access an education that will restore their freedom, fulfillment, and development,” said UVEG Rector Ricardo Narvaez Martinez.

“Education is a fundamental human right and the most powerful tool for defending and guaranteeing all other rights. We are deeply excited by this collaboration with UVEG because we know that, thanks to its technological and educational resources, we will be able to bring awareness and training programs to those who need them most,” said Attorney Alcaraz Olvera.

The agreement proposes joint actions in training, research, and awareness-raising, with an inclusive and accessible approach that will promote micro-credentials and innovative human rights training programs.
