The specialized Subcommittee for the implementation of the Microcredentials system in Guanajuato is created
Guanajuato/Gto News
With the creation of the Microcredentials Subcommittee within the State Productivity Commission (COEP), Guanajuato consolidates a decisive step in the implementation of these certifications for the recognition of specialized skills and knowledge aligned with the needs of the labor market.

Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo promotes strategies that professionalize and strengthen employment in Guanajuato, responding quickly and flexibly to the demands of the industry.

The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, noted the importance of this Subcommittee in ensuring the development of Microcredentials in Guanajuato.
“I deeply appreciate the commitment the members of this Commission. Today, I invite you to take a further step: to make microcredentials the strategy that differentiates Guanajuato on the global training map. We are the first State in Mexico and Latin America to incorporate microcredentials into its legislation and implementation,” said Villasenor.

Microcredentials are accreditations granted by higher education institutions that recognize specific learning, from technical skills to advanced professional competencies.
This system is regulated by the Education Law, the Higher Education Law, and the Law for Economic Development and Competitiveness of the State of Guanajuato.

Through the Microcredentials Subcommittee, in coordination with the “Guanajuato is Prosperity” initiative and the Secretary of Education, we are working to identify the needs of each region and sector, ensuring that these learnings respond to the challenges of the local and global labor market.
With this initiative, Guanajuato reaffirms its leadership in education innovation and its commitment to lifelong learning and inclusion, strengthening talent to build a better future.
