The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, accompanied President of Mexico to her first regional report, held in the city of Leon.
“In Guanajuato, we have worked hard to build a relationship of respect and collaboration,” said the Governor of the People when welcoming the President.
Thanks to the efforts of Governor Libia Dennise and the teamwork by the People’s Government and the Government of Mexico, this report confirms the previously announced water and mobility projects for Guanajuato.
“I recognize, President, the openness of your government, demonstrating that with will and determination, nothing is impossible,” said Libia Dennise.
This way, Guanajuato is participating in historic and strategic projects that Guanajuatense families deserve, such as the Solis-Leon aqueduct, the modernization of irrigation district 011, and the construction of a passenger train connecting Irapuato with Mexico City, a mobility project that will include Leon, thanks to the efforts of the State Governor.
Libia Dennise also acknowledged the decree prohibiting the temporary importation of finished footwear and the definitive compensatory quotas that have supported the footwear industry, which is so important and representative for Guanajuato.
“This action makes it clear that the leadership of women is transformative and generates results. We’re not only working for everyone, but we’re also making a tangible difference for families in Mexico and Guanajuato,” the Governor said.
In her message, Mexico’s President acknowledged the Governor’s decision to work in coordination with Federal Authorities on issues such as security, achieving results such as a decrease in homicides.
“The Governor is right. We have been working closely together on one of the most pressing issues in Guanajuato, which is security. We are coordinated on this because it is very important. We may not agree on some things, we may come from different political parties, but when it comes to governing, we have to govern together and in a coordinated manner,” said the President of Mexico.
This joint effort has yielded positive results, said the President. “No one would have imagined that homicides in Guanajuato have dropped by 60 percent from February to the present,” said the President.
The Governor of the People reaffirmed her commitment to work together, always with a vision of the future, to work for the common good of Guanajuato and Mexico.
“Today, both the Federal Government and the Government of Guanajuato are demonstrating that doing the right thing will always be the path we choose, on this path of continuing to work for our People. It is clear here that, above any partisan affiliation, our People come first. We will continue working together for them,” said the Governor.
